ABOUT US
Making creativity accessible, fun, and meaningful, because being creative benefits everyone.

OUR STORY
I started The Makers Nook UK after my own creative wellbeing journey, where I experienced first-hand how powerful creativity can be for mental health, especially when it’s shared with others. Too often, creativity can feel inaccessible or intimidating, so I wanted to build something different: a friendly, flexible space where everyone feels welcome to explore, create, and connect.
Today, that looks like community craft sessions, free and low-cost events, creative workshops, and collaborations with organisations who care about wellbeing and connection. We also aim to support creativity at home through our online community and creative resources, and this is only the beginning...
"We believe everyone should have the opportunity to access the creative arts to benefit their mental health and well-being".
OUR CORE VALUES
Accessibility
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the positive impact creativity can have on mental health, wellbeing, and social connection, so it’s important to us to make our services as inclusive and accessible as possible. From affordable workshops and low-cost craft supplies to welcoming Meet ‘N’ Makes, we aim to remove barriers and create safe, supportive spaces where everyone feels encouraged to get creative, express themselves, and connect with others.
Community
We’re passionate about creating welcoming creative spaces both online and in person where people can connect, feel supported, and experience the joy of making together. As our community continues to grow, we remain committed to developing fun, inclusive, and accessible experiences shaped by the ideas, interests, and needs of the people around us, creating a space built by the community, for the community.
Health & Wellbeing
We’ve seen first-hand the positive impact creativity can have on mental health, confidence, and connection, as well as the way it can bring people together and help tackle social isolation. That’s why we’re passionate about creating welcoming creative experiences and supportive spaces that encourage self-expression, community connection, and the opportunity for others to experience the benefits of creativity for themselves.
Who we have worked with so far...

What we are building...
We’re creating a creative community where people come together to make, connect, and share in a way that feels welcoming and effortless. Imagine tables full of colourful projects, ideas bouncing around, and friendly faces discovering new ways to get creative, all without pressure or judgement.
It’s a space where anyone can try something new, explore their creativity, and be part of a community that’s inclusive, playful, and open to everyone. Creativity can spark fun, build confidence, and help foster connection, and that’s at the heart of everything we’re building.
